Assistant City Engineer - City of Xenia
ASSISTANT CITY ENGINEER
Pay Range: $65,520.00 – $109,200.00, DOQ
The City of Xenia is looking for a qualified and motivated Assistant City Engineer to assist in the planning, design, and maintenance of municipal infrastructure projects. This position supports the City Engineer in delivering capital improvement projects, reviewing private development, ensuring compliance with applicable engineering standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or other closely related engineering field;
Two (2) years of related experience in civil engineering or closely related field preferred;
Must possess a valid State of Ohio driver’s license and remain insurable under the City’s vehicle insurance policy;
Demonstrate functional knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, & ESRI ARCMAP GIS software;
Certified as a State of Ohio Engineering Intern at time of hire preferred; and
Successfully obtain licensure as a State of Ohio Professional Engineer (P.E.) required within five (5) years of hire.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists with or conducts surveys for the City projects (property, topographic, construction surveys, etc.).
Serves as project manager for capital improvement projects from conception to completion, including but is not limited to the development of project plans, specifications, and estimates.
Plans for, designs, and prepares construction drawings for public service projects (traffic signals, water and sewer lines, small buildings, etc.).
Inspects construction projects (city projects, subdivisions, etc.) in order to ensure compliance with codes, plans, or other regulations.
